Welcome to my blog! My name is Victor GRENU, and I’m an Independent Cloud Consultant specializing in Amazon Web Services (AWS).
With over 20 years in IT, I design secure, scalable, reliable, and cost-effective architectures for large-scale and mission-critical distributed systems, from microservices to serverless. I also bring deep experience in cloud security, DevSecOps, cost optimization, and modern application design.
Through this blog, I share my knowledge and insights with the community, and continue to learn and grow alongside others in the field.

🎤 Community & Volunteering
Beyond my day-to-day consulting work, I’m passionate about giving back to the cloud security community. I’m a volunteer organizer of fwd:cloudsec Europe, a non-profit conference dedicated to cloud security research and practice. The conference brings together cloud practitioners to discuss attack and defense research, security strategies, and the real-world challenges of securing cloud platforms, the kind of content that doesn’t always fit into vendor conference schedules.
If you’re interested in cloud security, I encourage you to check out the fwd:cloudsec community and join us at an upcoming event!
🎙️ Speaking & Appearances
- fwd:cloudsec Europe - Conference organizer (2024, 2025, 2026)
- Various AWS community meetups and events across France

🧑🏻🎓 AWS Certifications
I hold multiple AWS certifications spanning architecture, security, and operations:

🕰️ Back in time
My journey in Information Technology began in 2005 as a System Administrator at Saint-Gobain, located in the little town of Mers-les-Bains, France. This initial role saw me immersed in the world of system management within a glass factory setting 🥵.
Progressing in my career, I joined Microsoft as a Technical Account Manager (TAM), a position that allowed me to hone my skills in technical support and customer management. My path then led me to Mediametrie, the leading French audience measurement company, where I embraced the challenges of being an AWS Architect handling large scale Internet traffic.
Further diversifying my experience, I assumed the role of Ops Manager for a major automotive logistics provider, gaining extensive experience in transportation and logistics operations across France’s rail and road networks. Following this, I took on the role of AWS Architect at ENGIE, where I further developed my expertise in cloud infrastructure and cloud security while working for this global energy leader.
Since 2020, I’ve been running my own venture, an independent AWS Cloud Consulting boutique known as zoph.io, offering specialized consulting services in AWS architecture and cloud security.

🏃 Running
When I’m not in the cloud, you’ll find me on the road. I’ve been running since 2011, with 2,154km logged so far. Highlights include the Paris Marathon in 2017 and regular 20km races around Paris and Normandie. In 2025 alone, I covered 670km. Running keeps me grounded, focused, and always chasing the next personal best.
